Nelson Shogren spends a large amount of time outdoors, paddling kayaks and canoes, hiking, backpacking, camping, road and mountain biking, with a main objective of exploring. He was a communications specialist for a large U.S. telephone company and holds a B.A. in journalism. Shogren has traveled and explored areas of China, Chile, Namibia, Canada, and various portions of the United States and Alaska. He has a pair of hiking shoes that have walked on five continents and been wave-lapped by five different oceans.
